The PnP BIOS spec says (1.0a, beginning of ch. 4.2 at pg. 23):
"Please refer to the Plug and Play ISA Specification 1.0A
(Section 4.6) for the maximum resources that a device node
can use."
Section 4.6 of ISAPNP is where the 4 mem / 8 io / 2 irq / 2 dma
limits are listed.
