Yes.  I'm in awe of your ASCII diagrams.

Oh, you probably wanted comments on USB.  What you're describing
doesn't jump out and scream "WRONG!!!" to me, and it does make sense
to me, but I can't claim to be an expert, so don't put too much weight
on this opinion.  Mainly, I just wanted to compliment you on your
ASCII diagrams.  :')
