I think I understand why some people don't want to move existing
functionality into kernfs (like making it impossible for "ps" to work
without kernfs).

But I don't understand any reluctance to put new functionality into
kernfs, and to encourage everybody to use kernfs to get that new
functionality (like making "ps" work better/faster with kernfs).
