Now that I've had a good night's sleep, it was more evident to me of my
problem with namei and checkalias and getdevvp, etc.  I had a parenthesis
mismatch on my SPECHASH definition and the bdevvp to clone was never found. 
I'll boot the new kernel being built when I get home from work tonight and
test it.  Hopefully this will work--if so, I'll repost the URL for a diff
including that work to test on other arches, and begin work on a renumbering
table.
