Many years of experience with the Novell bindery, and as much as
anyone with the Windows 95 registry, has convinced me of this too.
The other thing to note about using separate files for configuration
for different applications is that corruption is much less likely,
and it's much easier to clear out the configuration for a specific
application without affecting others.
