This has probably been brought up before. Hoever there hasn't been any
news in the mailing lists so I hope nobody minds if I ask.

I believe there is a mailing loist for those interested in work on
supporting mulitplt processor architectures. I was told the arm port
suspended work on it when it heard work was undertaken for the sparc
port and they wanted to wait to see what happened. Nothing then seemed
to happen until the pentium pro came out and PC users got interested
in the idea.

Maybe soemone would like to clarify all of that. I believe there is
now a suitable mailing list. What I would like to know is how to
subscribe to it and if they are considering POSIX thread issues
at the same time. The two seem losely related and would be nice if
more work for added the necessary hooks for threads was under taken
where relevent. Is any other work on adding hooks to aid the addition
threads at later date undertaken ? Has anyone else any thoughts
on the priciple of evolving support for threads while other work is
undertaken ?
