I suggest asking the vendor about it, perhaps there is a good reason
it violates the spec.  Assuming it is a real bug, ask them to fix it
(new firmware?), and warn the rest of the world about it.

Thus firms which produce good products get more sales, firms producing
poor products get fewer sales and higher support costs.
