It looks like something in that direction is already being done...
Is this going to be added to the tree at some point?
INRIA Rocquencourt is building a full (4.4BSD)
UNIX implementation based on NetBSD 1.0.
They are targeting a Sun SPARC sun4c (but can
be easily ported to any platform supported by
NetBSD, ie x86 PC, some MC 68k, MIPS, NS 32x32, workstations, etc).
