Thanks to all who suggested this is where I look.  These are good starting
points.  I still have to figure out where the system call tables are set
up, but these are helpful.
Is the DDJ series useful in understanding the core?  If so, and if I can
find my old 386bsd reference list, I could read them at a local library...
