I'm all for it.  However we might also try to provide them as LKMs for
1.1 meanwhile.  Mainly, my interest in this is to increase use of
LKMs, and providing more "real" LKMs will encourage this I think.
Maybe we could also decide a standard way to package LKM source in our
tree as well as having a rc construct for their loading.
