I have 2 i386-PCs running diskless NetBSD-1.0 for a while.
When I build a new kernel, sometimes I have different
strange effects:
1. Some of the object files have length 0 -> linker complains.
2. The kernel binary contains zeroed-out Pages.
A second try works in most cases.
It sounds like you're using soft mounts. If so, don't do that. Soft
NFS mounts are not reliable.
