Are these "*.tgz" files real packages (as found in pkgsrc, check out
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/, usually named foo-x.y.tgz), or
sets belonging to the base OS (usually named base141.tgz, text141.tgz)? 

In the further case, you should extract the tape to local disk, and add
the packages with pkg_add.
