As I mentioned in another forum, bzip2 will use up 3700kB of memory in
"normal" mode or 2300kB in half-speed mode during decompression with
maximum compression. This may make life hard on 4MB (or possibly 8MB?)
machines. I don't know what gzip needs (it's not obvious to me from any
of the doco that comes with libz or gzip).
