Some time ago I tried Code Mercenaries IO-Warrior:

It doesn't require a special driver as it's recognized as an uhid(4) 
device. I only tried the 24-pin version IO-Warrior24 which is a 
low-speed device. There are faster versions available with even more 
pins but I didn't test these.
