Actually it probably depend on if you were taught to type (and where).
At school I was taught to use 2 spaces, it was a requirement for the RSA
typing qualifications I have.   It's also a habit I probably couldn't break.

In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter, and with so many
people doing updates to CHANGES it'll be hard to enforce any kind of scheme.
