Well, as far as I understand, people searching for this feature may well 
have "pivot root" in their mind when they search for this. Can we find 
some naming that hints that this is what they're searching for, instead of 
leaving them out in the dark?

How about "This is similar to the 'pivot root' feature found elsewhere"?
