On the AMD64 there is no reason to restrict the size of the INSTALL
kernel any longer, period. I don't see why you are trying to. If we
can't make it boot on a CD using floppy image mode, quit using floppy
image mode already.

I'm totally against this insane policy you have pushed forward for a
year now of trying to maintain the current install system in
conditions where it clearly cannot be maintained, at the expense of
constantly tweaking and crippling stuff. There is no point. It must
end.
