Bah, never mind.  My mind is not working well on fridays, especially
when sleep deprived, so I somehow inverted the result of the test.

I was (am) sure I saw those levels, and somehow I thought this was on
a FreeBSD box (they have the same bogus semicolon).  But after
rummaging through my memory, I think this really was on an svr3 box
about a decade ago.
