Log Message:
While trying to vet a patch for PR 17789, christos@netbsd.org suggested
that we try out, and if successful, suck in whois from one of the other
BSDs. Open's built and worked fine. The manual page looks okay to me
but someone with more experience might want to look. Last but not least,
christos@netbsd.org found a few nits but told me to commit it as is and
he would fix them shortly afterward.
