I have constantly used remote shared /usr since 1.3, and have been very vocal
about it's continued existence and support.  Perhaps we have never outright
said "it must exist", but every time something like this comes up, where it
gets broken, (assuming I notice) I've whined and moaned about it.

If this feature goes away suddenly.. I'm going to be very unhappy..
