at least in my opinion, inclusion of 'official patches' should be done
with import, rather than by applying them and cvs committing them.

doing it this way makes more work for the people who do the next
import, and is also somewhat illogical.  Since they are official
fixes, it's reasonable to consider a patched source tree with them
applied to have the official version "xf86 3.3.6 with fixes up to N",
and to consider that version a vendor release.
