I didn't checked, probably binary compatible.
Or rather, according to sys/arch/arc/conf/GENERIC, is it preferable to add

options		COMPAT_12	# NetBSD 1.2,
options		COMPAT_13	# NetBSD 1.3,
options		COMPAT_14	# NetBSD 1.4,
?

What is the criterion COMPAT_* should be in GENERIC?
