Have you managed to nail down a fix for this by chance?

I'm working on xbd last couple of days, I'm going to work on some
additional features.

Particularly, it's possible to avoid all those maps and unmaps by
implementing persistent mapping feature. This should help with the
transient errors, I'll be looking into that.

Also, I've updated the grant code recently, which could help reduce
the transient grant errors - any chance for you to try this with
-current kernels on either/both sides? Just beware -currently has
currently a MP scheduling bug, so better test with 1-CPU DomU.
