boots fine for me:
Enter pathname of shell or RETURN for /bin/sh:
# uname -a
NetBSD 5.0_BETA NetBSD 5.0_BETA (XEN2_DOMU) #0: Tue Nov 4 00:34:57 PST 2008
builds@wb40:/home/builds/ab/netbsd-5/i386/200811030002Z-obj/home/builds/ab/netbsd-5/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/XEN2_DOMU
 i386

I guess you're using a custom kernel, could you try a netbsd-XEN2_DOMU
from ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-5/ ?
