That does not surprise me.

I don't know whether the text I quoted is a recent change or not, nor
in either case whether or not it actually represents the stance of the
Python project.  But it seems to me they should either take fixes for
the VAX or update that documentation.

If they aren't still anti-non-IEEE-float, no problem; if they are,
someone needs to point out that their documentation disagrees.

If anyone knows how to reach him directly - and the gatekeepers are
still intransigent - it might be worth throwing a ping that way.
