Re: 10.0_RC3 GENERIC locks up during pkgsrc/devel/cmake C++ build

 gcc(1) requires more than ~350MB to build some C++ sources,
 but after about an hour all userland processes looks not respond,
 while the kernel responds ping from other hosts.

 Does anyone see the similar problem?

...
=> Generating post-install file lists
=> Checking file-check results for cmake-3.28.3
=> Creating binary package /usr/pkgsrc/devel/cmake/work/.packages/cmake-3.28.3.tgz
===> package-message [cmake-3.28.3] ===> Building binary package for cmake-3.28.3
=> Creating binary package /usr/pkgsrc/packages/All/cmake-3.28.3.tgz

So this took about 27 hours, which is actually quite a bit faster than I thought. In the past, I think it took about a day for my 4000/90a to compile cmake, so I wonder what's faster now. No problems :)

Was your VAX system built from the latest sources that include the preemption and locking fixes?

If so, then I wonder what's different about your simh setup. Do you use (open)simh's idling, for instance?
