Re: TMSCP issue?

Morning,

Den 2023-11-29 kl. 02:44, skrev Dave McGuire:

Hi folks, I'm running a 9.3 kernel on a 4000-705A, with a TMSCP tape coupler (Emulex QT13) and a drive that looks to the kernel like a TU81.

...
[     1.000000] mtc0 at uba0 csr 174500 vec 774 ipl 17
[     1.000000] mscpbus0 at mtc0: version 2 model 5
[     1.000000] mscpbus0: DMA burst size set to 4
[     1.000008] mt0 at mscpbus0 drive 0: TU81
...

The tape subsystem works fine under VMS in this configuration, but trying to access it from NetBSD, say by doing "mt -f /dev/mt0 status", just hangs, with no tape motion and no output.  Pounding on ^C will eventually kill the process.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this?  I've not yet tried it under simh.
No suggestions, but I can note that the only tape controllers I tried with this driver was the DEC Qbus controller for TK50 and for TU81.
Never tried any third-party controllers.
