Re: VAX floating point formats & tuning GCC for CPU models (was Re: Some more patches for GCC...)



On a side note: I could use help with regenerating some of the tables
in libm (used for interpolating various function values) for the vax
floating point format limits.

I haven't been able to trace any sources how the original tables have
been generated and started to write some new programs against mpfr, but
haven't got anywhere usable so far (and stopped spending time of this due
to general gcc state on vax showing more urgent issues).

For someone with a bit of mpfr experience this and enough math background
to understand the ACM articles (or the libm code), this should be a pretty
straight forward task.

Any volunteers?
