Hi,

I've just acquired a new toy, a VAX 4000/500A :-) I've used NetBSD for
several years but this is my first encounter with a VAX QBUS system. I
understand that the DSSI disk controller is not supported so I was very
pleased to get a CMD CQD-223/TM SCSI card with it. Unfortunately I'm
having a few problems installing the card, it came from another 4000 so
isn't configured for my box. The only QBUS card that came with my 500A
is the TK70 controller, without the CMD card installed, I see:

>>> show qbus
Scan of Qbus I/O Space
-20001940 (774500) = 0000 TQK50/TQK70/TU81E/RV20/KFQSA-TAPE
-20001942 (774502) = 0BC0
-20001F40 (777500) = 0020 IPCR

Scan of Qbus Memory Space
>>>

With the CMD card installed, I get exactly the same output. If I then
remove the TK70 controller, I still get the same output! From this I
guess that my CMD card is configured with the same address as the TK70
controller. I've had a hunt on the 'net but haven't found any info on
jumper settings for the CQD-223 so I'm looking for help to re-jumper it
to a non-overlapping address.

A more worrying question is whether I can use this card as a disk
controller at all, does the TM suffix mean that it only supports tapes?

Thanks,
George
