The local Triangle BSD Users Group (TriBUG, at
www.tribug.org), is a group of around 25 or so
BSD leaning types who just get together and have
some sociable BSD fun sort of monthly. As the
group is based in the Research Triangle area of
central NC, it might be a bit far to travel from
NYC area....(:+}}... But, you are most welcome
to share a virtual BSD with us..... Last month
we held the First Annual TriBUG VAX games at one
of the local's houses, wherein ancient and and
mysterious games of the VAXish tradition were
held....1) the infamous VAXpull, wherein a fine
BA23 MicroVAX is hefted and hauled at speed around
a measured course and timed, 2) the VAX diskput,
wherein a long-since retired RDish device is put
and the distance measured, and 3) the VAX platter
hurl, wherein, as in time-honored traditions,
14 inch platters are hurled for precision as in
a manner akin to the honored game of horseshoes.
All in all, it were a fine set of games, and will
become a tradition in the TriBUG community.
As a means of helping to sponsor the meetings,
I tend to offer as door prizes such things as
sparcs and VAXentoyz, so that others may keep
them rescued from oblivion.....
