Lots of people have problem with the boot programs in -current. I checked
in a quick fix for the basic trouble yesterday, and I will try to test the
remaining ways of booting this weekend. There are 10-15 different ways 
to boot that the boot program must support; therefore it's not simple to
make any changes to it - often it breaks some machine or some way of booting.
