Hi.

Perhaps this is of interrest:

After upgrading my VAX 4000-300 to a -400 I encountered some problems.
First: The [4-7]0[05] kernel Mr. Kukat made crashes somtimes:
May 8 16:52:14 Simon /netbsd: panic: ptelen fault in system space: addr 726f2098 pc 8011c49a
May 8 16:52:14 Simon last message repeated 4 times
May 8 16:52:14 Simon /netbsd: pNetBSD 1.5U (GENERIC) #0: Mon Apr 30 11:06:19 CEST 2001
May 8 16:52:14 Simon /netbsd: michael@nereus.unixiron.org:/usr/src/syssrc/sys/arch/vax/compile/GENERIC

I got no crash dump because:
May 8 16:52:16 Simon savecore: can't find device 507/725072

So I tried to compile a -current kernel. (BTW: dl(4) and dhu(4) seems to
be broken. I did not investigate further into this.) It is 1.5V cvsuped
yesterday. But this kernel fails to start with:
>> NetBSD/vax boot [Nov 17 2000 07:23:42] <<
>> Press any key to abort autoboot 0
nfs_open: must mount first.
open netbsd.vax: Device not configured
> boot netbsd
