I've cc'd the reply to port-vax as it may be of some
use and I'd hate to have to type it again :-)

SIE 31:24 should be 01 (Qbus, single processor)
SIE 23:16 is the firmware version number (e.g. 0x50 is V5.0)
SIE 15:08 is the system subtype. IN addition to the ones I already
      listed there is:

		01: KA650
		02: KA640
		03: KA655
		04: KA670
		05: KA660
		06: KA680
		10: KA694 (same as KA692??)

(Obviously many of these are not NVAX systems at all and for
those
the other fields listed may not apply - I would have to
check
the individual manuals for say a KA650 which is CVAX
based).
SIE 07:00 is the system variant but no examples are listed

SID 31:24 should be 0x13 (NVAX) for all > KA675 since they are all NVAX
23:00 depends on the NVAX chip

I have these boards listed (in numerical rather than chronological
order):

		KA675 (L4002-CA): VAX 4000-400
		KA680 (L4002-BA): VAX 4000-500
		KA681 (L4005-BA): VAX 4000-500A
		KA690 (L4002-AA): VAX 4000-600A
		KA691 (L4005-AA): VAX 4000-505A
		KA692 (L4006-AA): VAX 4000-700A
		KA694 (L4006-BA): VAX 4000-705A

Note that at some stage there was (IIRC) a VAX 4000-600
but that had its name (confusingly) changed to one or
other of that VAX 4000-500 variants without anyone
(internally or externally) being clearly told.

At some stage there was a reference to a VAX 4000-800; I believe
that that actually shipped as a VAX 4000-705A.
