All correct ... the VAX 4000-300 is the same style as the
400,50x,600,70x too.
The VAX 4000-200 CPU can be used in most places where a
KA650, KA655 or KA640 would have been used (i.e. a
BA200 series Qbus enclosure and also one of the
BA400 enclosures).
At the time the KA660 was rated as 5VUPs or so and therefore
marginally faster than the KA655. However, for some applications
it turned out that the KA655 was better.
In essence, there is not a great deal of difference between
a KA660 and a KA655 ... don't be fooled by the VAX 4000
nomenclature, it is not a particularly powerful CPU.
That said, it is a solid little workhorse and it does have
onboard DSSI & ethernet (IIRC) so it may be useful from
that point of view.
