The machine controlled the simulator for a nuclear power plant block
controlling room (I don't know how to call it in english:), the
operators and engineers in the power plant were trained on this
equipment. The whole system consisted of the CPUs, a couple of
CDC 7264 drives, a few racks of CAMAC frames, tons of serial lines,
and I believe two graphical stations. A remarkable configuration
in deed, it was used till '97. The field engineers of the KFKI/DEC
Hungary were quite proud of this system, it was said to be stable
and reliable, but they also told me, that the machine wasn't able
to service anything else, when there was a simulation going on...
