  Your keyboard is not set up right.  Try F3 (setup key); the bottom line
should contain settings for set-up language (Set-Up=...) and keyboard
mapping (... Keyboard). Set the latter to North American, and all should
be fine (arrow keys to navigate, keypad Enter to change).
