This will work fine. And things that generate more interrupts go closer to
the CPU (which is why the above order is optimal)

No problem leaving open slots. If you can find blank slot covers for them
then you will get a nice looking front and won't have to worry about the
cat trying to snuggle up in there for the warmth!
