<1) Use telnet to the box, this will give you max speed
<2) modify the entry for /dev/console in /etc/ttys or so, maybe in inittab, 
<will find it. So you can set autoboot, set your terminal to a faster rate, 
<see the login with this rate. Not very good, i prefer the network login.

3)Use the printer port and the dual IO capability of the VT340 so that you 
boot and run at 9600 for console and set up /etc/ttys for the printer port 
to run fast.  Switching power is F4 on the keyboard if the setup is correct.
