Apparently, the DQ696 was a bug-fixed version of the 686.
I have the complete manual - and I did put it on my ftp site for somebody to copy.
Alas, my ISP is now blocking access to me for FTP (residential adsl line), so can
the person who downloaded the manual from me share it with others? (The other
problem is that I accidentally deleted it, and would have to re-scan it, which I
will do if we can't find the person who downloaded it!!!)

The manual doesn't have max disk size, but has examples of cyl 1186 and has lines
for 16 heads. 65 sectors @512 bytes/sector were common. I can't remember how EsDI
did cyl addresses because there aren't lines for it. I have seen 760 meg drives on
it (I have a 380).
