They are video ram.  Cache chips for vaxen would have to be about 8-12x 
faster and definately not dynamic(tooslow back then).

I'm fairly certain the Microvax-II and Cvax powered cpus are not cache 
equipped. If there was one it would have to be external to the CPU. That 
would include the m30 and m38.

The later Rigel, Mariah, SOC, Nvax and Nvax5 do have cache of varying 
size and implmentations.
