I'm now located a few thousand kilometres from home and my
VAXen.  I don't have any files with me here and rarely have net access.
Anyways, that connector is the three pin connector that has a two wire
printed circuit cable which goes into the internals of the drive.  Keeep
it disconnected during spinup and connect it a few seconds after operating
RPM is reached.  

BTW.  If somebody has a copy of a previous, more detailed message that I
wrote on the subject, feel free to send it to whoever wants it or to the
list.

BTW2.  I think I'll have to unsubscribe now because too much stuff from
the list piles up.  If you want to reach me, e-mail me.  I'll be back in
