Thank you to all who responded to my pleas for help - my mvII is now
back up and working (well VMS so far!) minus one of it 8Mb memory boards
:(

For those that are interested "?3" .. "Failure" meant failure on board
in slot 3 - obvious with hindsight ;^D - I checked this by swapping the
memory boards around and ... you guessed it "?2" ... "Failure".
Interestingly enough the system works fine with the board in but the
ribbon cable disconnected!.

Ho Hum.

The next interesting bit will be for me to follow up your suggestions re
validation of boards for NetBSD, and then follow it up with installing
NetBSD - maybe then I'll find a real use for it (suggestions please to
...) - *maybe then* my wife will let me bring it back home from work!

Thanks again for your help.

Regards
SteveTR
