Any of them should be OK.

Yes.

once you've the miniroot installed you can do/get the rest of
the installation via nfs/ftp. There should be no difference 
between VAX/VMS and DECstation/Ultrix as long as tcp/ip is 
working and all the neccessary services are setup on the server.
