Curt, I'm sorry you're having so many problems.  They all stem from one
cause: the sun3 port is a bit out of date.  People haven't worked on it
for a while, meanwhile, the rest of NetBSD has marched forward.

The problem you mention above is due to the fact that the "bus DMA"
framework to which these functions belong was never incorporated into the
sun3 port.  No one has attempted to port a driver to the sun3 for a good
while now; hence, your initiative is stirring up long settled dust and
revealing the oversight.
