Our dependency system in the Makefiles is not what it should be. I've
occasionally been burned by errors that went away after a complete
recompile of all kernel objects.

So, I will blast my kernel compile area down to nothing and let the build
process do everything from scratch - let me know after I put up the
19971117 build if it still has the same problem.

This, alas, will likely delay the snapshot until sometime tomorrow morning
or early afternoon (pity the poor Sun 3/60). Maybe I should convert that
Macintosh Quadra 700 (25 MHz mc68040) in the corner into a build system...
