no, i think you got that from a reply to this.  i have a 28.8K that is going
to be a 33.6K as soon as i get the ROM upgrades.  so, yea, 28.8K will do
better than 38.4k and 33.6K even more so.

well, ok, here is what i'm going to do.  the modem is going to get a chance on
both machines.  first on the PC since that is running now and then on the SUN
once it is in a usable condition.  i'll do what i can to break things and
report here on what happens on both machines.
