well.. i installed the new SCSI_TEST kernel (had to take the one
off of netbsd.org, dont have the diskspace..) and i'm still getting
the same problem with my ESDI drive.

As the machine boots, going thru all the checks, it gets to the si0 part
this is what i get...

Nov 9 16:09:31 duvel /netbsd: si0 at obio0 addr 0x140000 level 2
Nov 9 16:09:31 duvel /netbsd: scsibus0 at si0
Nov 9 16:09:31 duvel /netbsd: si0 targ 1 lun 0: <EMULEX, MD21/S2 ESDI, A00> SCSI0 0/direct fixed

Nov 9 16:09:32 duvel /netbsd: : 0MB, 1361 cyl, 14 head, 0 sec, 512 bytes/sec
Nov 9 16:09:32 duvel /netbsd: si0 targ 1 lun 1: <EMULEX, MD21/S2 ESDI, A00> SCSI0 0/direct fixed
Nov 9 16:09:32 duvel /netbsd: sd3 at scsibus0: drive offline

sd3 is not connected, so thats ok... but why would sd2 be not ready.

do i need to put it on another scsi id??? or is this just a case
that i need to format the drive??

thanx
