Heh...this is because things got changed, and an up-to-date net-style 
config must be used.  NOTE that config.new is now `config' and the old 
config is now `config.old'...so, what you need to do is rebuild the 
program in /usr/src/usr.sbin/config and install it, the use it to 
configure your kernels...

This was mentioned on a mailing list a while ago, I believe...
