Although here it's pretty clear what happened. See below...

One is for ATI Rage graphics chips, the other one is for Sun Creator,
Creator3D and Elite3D graphics boards. Completely different hardware.

No. Your Elite3D doesn't use an ATI chip. The ATI chip XFree reports
sits on your motherboard and has a separate VGA-style output. To use it
you'll have to change the firmware console ( can be done from NetBSD
with the eeprom(1) command )=20
