Aceride is not the problem - it's interrupts not getting routed correctly,
that is why gem does not work either.

Please file a PR and provide your dmesg, and also some openfirmware
output:

 - start with "devalias" to lookup the paths for gem and the harddisk
 - cd to each part of the path and do .properties there
